Used to stop the penetration of Aluminum and it's dross. Amount used for this purpose is 5-6% by weight.

Can be used as a deoxidant additive for refractory bodies using carbon. Amount needed for this use varies widely depending on body composition and bond components. Range needed is probably 1-2% by weight.
